Equity Plus works with high net worth individuals that want to make an investment with a blend of financial and social return. Traditionally, many investors have created a portfolio that has focused on maximising financial return while balancing risk and have used some of that financial return to make a charitable donation.

Equity Plus is working with growth-orientated enterprises that are focused on creating both financial and social return. They will use investment to grow their businesses and with the profit created will be able to give you a financial return. However, they are also seeking to deliver social and/or environmental benefits and these may carry higher costs, for example a social enterprise that employs formerly homeless people will usually need to spend more on training and staff supervision than a commercial business operating in a similar sector that does not have social aims.

Equity Plus investment opportunities therefore involve investors working with dynamic entrepreneurs in the same way as for any conventional commercial business investment made via an angel network. However they also provide opportunities to be part of creating significant social and/or environmental change.
